Loving, parenting and working well are the challenges of adult life. At best facing them holds obstacles, pain and sometimes terror. A therapist may be a useful resource. When our histories leave us unprepared to meet these challenges, a reparative therapy relationship may provide essential support and guidance for healing and development.
A clinical social worker in practice as a therapist since 1977, Ms. Salwen was trained at the SUNYAB School of Social Work and Smith College School for Social Work. She offers short and long-term treatment tailored to the particular needs of adult individuals and couples. Areas of expertise include work with survivors of early trauma, gays and lesbians, relationship issues, depression, anxiety and normal life transitions. Her approach emphasizes the creation of a mutual, respectful, safe relationship as the medium in which positive change occurs. Ms. Salwen has a centrally located Buffalo office on bus lines and with ample on-street parking. Many insurances are accepted.
